I enjoyed this year’s E3. I know I didn’t give any company a A for their presentations, but I still enjoyed the show and I’m here to give my top 10 games that were shown off at E3!
E3 showed off a lot of really neat looking games that I want to see added to my collection of games.
I’m only listing games that had some gameplay, or lengthy trailers shown off in some way. That means no Metroid Prime 4, or Pokemon will make this list or any other game that just dropped a 30 second trailer and nothing else.
10. Battle Tech
This game has two things that I love. Giant mechs, and tactical combat.
Griftlands is made by Klei Entertainment. Klei Entertainment are the developers of Don’t Starve, and Mark of The Ninja. They make really fucking good games and this one looks good too.
8. Monster Hunter World
What little I saw of Monster Hunter World looked really good. If Sony would have shown off more this would most likely be bumped higher on the list. Monster Hunter is finally going to PC and I plan on buying it day one.
7. Metro Exodus
Metro is back and it looks better then ever! The Metro series is so good. They’re not wide known like other FPS games, but the story, setting, and gameplay sets them apart from your average FPS game.
6. Mario + Rabbids
This game shouldn’t be interesting. It’s a freaking Rabbids game for fucks sake, but it plays like Xcom and I saw Mario shoot someone! I fucking want it…
Bioware’s A team has been working on Anthem for many years now and we got our first taste of it at Microsoft’s press conference. Of all the games that was shown off at E3 this is the one that my wife and talked about playing together the most and that small snippet that we saw already looks better than the entirety of Destiny 1.5.
4. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
The sequel to the best FPS game of all time is releasing this year and it looks like a crazy good time. And it’s another game I need, but I’m not sure if I’ll get around to playing it on day one because of another game on this list.
3. Skyrim (Switch)
Bethesda could have just released a half assed Skyrim on the Switch and called it a day, but instead they’re developing it from the ground up for it. Skyrim has Amiibo support, motion controls, and is playable in handheld mode! I wasn’t planning on buying Skyrim on day one because I’ve already put over 1000 hours into it, but I really want this game now. I would love to revisit Skyrim and explore it all over again on my Switch.
2. Xenoblade 2
I really liked what I saw of Xenoblade 2 yesterday. I didn’t see much exploration, but if this game is anything like X then it’s going to be huge. Xenoblade X is my favorite Wii U game of all time. I have high hopes for Xenoblade 2 and I hope it delivers.
1. Super Mario Odyssey
This is why I probably won’t be buying Wolfenstein 2 right away. Super Mario Odyssey looks so good. There hasn’t been a Mario game like this since Mario Sunshine on the gamecube. Super Mario Odyssey looks like a game of the year contender to me and I’m definitely buying it day one.
What were your favorite game announcements of E3?
