Top Ten List 14

My Top 10 Most Played Games

Spread the Word!

I was going through my backlog on Steam and saw some games that I’ve put an incredible amount of time into. I thought it would be fun to list the games that I’ve played the most. This isn’t just exclusive to PC. I’ve combined my console hours with PC for this list.

10. The Elder Scrolls Online – 176 hours played

I know I have more time than that played in ESO, but since I deleted a few of my characters I’ll never have the exact number. Those hours are just from ONE of my characters, but like I just said above… I’ll never have the exact number so this will have to do. The funny thing about this is I hated ESO when it first released. It wasn’t anything like it is now and I was very outspoken about how much I disliked the game back then. Fast forward a few years and it’s my favorite MMO and one of my favorite games to play with my wife.

9. Fallout 4 – 182 hours played

182 hours is nothing compared to most Fallout players. I’ve only completed this game 1 time. Most of the time I just mess around with mods and play the exact same file that I started the game with. I love Fallout 4 and it’s currently my favorite Fallout game. I can’t wait for Fallout 76!

8. Madden 15 – 216 hours played

This one surprised me. I knew a Madden game would be somewhere on the list because it was the only game I played for while when I owned my X1 a few years ago. I love American football and I’ve always loved Madden. The funny thing is I don’t think this is my most played Madden game because I put a lot of time into Madden 05 back in the day, but I have no way of knowing how long I played that since I no longer remember my old Xbox 360 account.

7. Diablo III – 268 hours played

I love Diablo III. It’s amazing and every so often I’ll go back and beat the game again with a new toon. This is another game that I know I have more play time in, but I can’t check on the hours I’ve logged in with deleted characters or from my graveyard. I know I’ve got at least 350 hours in this game, but with no way to prove that I’ll go by the official numbers I pulled up on my account. Playing this game in a full party of 4 is a blast and I’ve met some pretty cool people playing this game. I can’t wait to see what the future has for this longrunning series. Will Blizzard add more content to Diablo III or make Diablo IV?

6. The Division – 273 hours played

My favorite multiplayer game is number 6 on my list. I haven’t played this game in months. I wrote about why I quit the game, but I have been wanting to go back to it for some time now. With so many games on my radar at the moment I don’t see that happening right now. I’ve been apart of the amazing community that this game has since day one. I’ve been through the lows (1.3 anyone?) and the highs and I’ve made some good friends along the way. I’m even part of the Facebook group and I haven’t left it even though I don’t play the game anymore.

5. Dark Souls III – 292 hours played

We’re half way done! Dark Souls III is by far my most played Souls game. I’ve completed this game more then 30 times and since I’ve been playing Bloodborne I want to go back to Dark Souls III for one more run before I retire it. I love this series to death. The fast paced gameplay, boss fights, and interesting lore has kept me invested in this game for years. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played.

4. Dragon Age: Inquisition – 400 hours played

I love me some Dragon Age! Inquisition took the series in a bold new direction. Inquisition is a beautiful open world game that kept Bioware’s top notch storytelling. The end result was a fantastic experience that I’ve had many times. I originally completed this game on the Xbox One. I completed it a few times on X1, actually. I’ve logged almost 200 hours on just the Xbox. I made up the rest of that time on PC and I still need to log back in and play through Trespasser so that time is going to go up by quite a bit before I retire this game.

3. The Witcher 3 – 450 hours played

I think I have a Witcher problem :). What more can I say about this game that I haven’t said already? This game is a masterpiece. It’s an open world game that tells a fantastic story. It’s a perfect mix of story and gameplay that never lets up. I just bought this game on my PS4 and I plan on playing all the way through it again. So… you can expect those numbers to go way up! I try and play through this game once a year. Every playthrough takes me 100+ hours to complete. You do the math on that one.

2. Skyrim – 600 hours played

This should surprise no one. I love Skyrim. It’s my most played single player game of all time. I still play Skyrim 7 years after it’s original release, but not as often as I used to. Trying out new mods, writing about it, writing about new mods, and playing it over and over again is what I love to do with this game. I have an infinite amount of freedom in this game and it lets me do what no other game does. I can talk about Skyrim forever so I’ll just leave it at that.

1. Warframe – 866 hours played

Yes, Warframe is my most played game of all time. When I owned an X1 this was the only game I played for an entire year. I logged almost 500 hours on just the Xbox version of the game. I’m close to the 400 hour mark on PC and I can totally see myself hitting that milestone. I can see myself eclipsing 1,000 hours because I’m playing this game again. I want to see what the open world stuff is like and I’ll probably put another 100 hours into it before I stop playing it again. Warframe is there when I need it. It’s fantastic and gives me that grind that I need. I love this game and I don’t see any game topping this one for me… Maybe The Witcher 3…

Honorable Mentions:

Dark Souls II – hours played – 175

Dark Souls II was edged out by ESO, but it deserves a mention here because it was the only game I played for awhile. I even got my wife to play through the game with me and she logged about 50 hours in it before calling it quits. We beat the whole game together last year.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 152

This game just released last year (PC) and I’ve already sunk 152 hours in it. I’m not done with it either. I want to play through the game again (probably 2 or 3 more times) and make different choices this time around. I also want to see what the other companions story is like since I was forced to leave Beast, Red Prince, and Fane behind in my last run.

And that’s my list! All this proved is that I have no life and really love video games :). What are your most played games of all time?

I’ve clocked in around 500 hours on Warframe. I’ve got nearly everything bar a few prime things but it pulls me back with every update and new frame released. Also it is a fantastic game to play with friends. I cannot get enough of it.

Yep. Every update brings me back and I end up dropping at least an extra 100 hours into the game. It’s great with friends and I love the grind.

I don’t mind grinding, some games do it wrong but Warframe does it right. Even if they do get it wrong when they bring something new in, developer DE are quick to fix it.

DE is definitely one of my favorite developers. They know they make mistakes, but they always fix them. And you’re absolutely correct about the grinding in this game. Some games do it wrong, but not this one :).

Nice! Mine is easily WoW, as I’d estimate thousands of hours over the last 14 years. Probably 300ish in Neverwinter and the same amount in Skyrim, Dragon Age Inquisition, and Dragon’s Dogma.

If Warframe was around as long as WoW I’ll probably have those hours too :), Playing a game for 14 years is impressive! I can totally understand the 300 hours in Neverwinter too. It’s too bad the playerbase has shrunk so much.

I never got into Dragon’s Dogma. Gameplay was good, but everything else wasn’t :).

Yeah, NW went downhill when someone else took it over and put way too much focus on spending real money for end game stuff and their monthly VIP subscription. I still like it as a fan of Forgotten Realms, but I’ll never, ever do end game because I refuse to spend a bunch of cash on refinements and whatnot.

And that’s what ruined the game for me too. Shit being locked behind a pay wall is the quickest way to lose me as a fan of your game. I had my fun with it and I’m sad to see the state that the game is in today, but all good things eventually come to an end. Except WoW… I’m convinced that game will outlive us all :).

If you’re going to spend time doing something, spend time doing something you love. My most played game is definitely Octopath Traveler. I’m nearing the 100 hour on that, but I’ve done about half the endings so I’m winding down…maybe. I want to complete everything!
