Once Again I'm Skipping E3

Spread the Word!

E3 is always a huge waste of my time and this year’s E3 looks like the worst one yet.

Gamespot has released a list of games that will be showcased at E3 this year. I don’t expect this to be all of what E3 has to offer, but man it’s disappointing seeing all of those crappy games on one list.

Here’s the list

  • Attack on Titan
  • Battlefield 1
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • Deus Ex Mankind Divided
  • Dishonored 2
  • F1 2016
  • Final Fantasy 15
  • Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
  • Final Fantasy 14: Heavensward
  • A untitled Forza game
  • Hitman
  • I am Setsuna [might look this one up]
  • Just Cause 3 [why?]
  • The Legend of Zelda Wii U [Definitely looking this one up]
  • Mafia 3 [I’ll look this one up too.]
  • Milestone S.R.L. & Valentino Rossi The Game
  • Nioh
  • Persona 5
  • Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness [Another weirdly named Jrpg]
  • Titanfall 2
  • Yooka -Laylee
  • WRC 6

And that wraps up the mediocre list.

The only game I’ll definitely be looking up is Zelda. I won’t watch E3, but I’m sure there’s going to be a ton of press coverage for me to look at after E3.

Mafia III looks good and that’ll be another game I’ll look up at some point. I’ll also look up I am Setsuna because I need another Jrpg to play besides Xenoblade X, but there’s no way I’m paying $40 for it.

Why is Just Cause 3 here? Are we getting a expansion? I know it’s not a remaster… at least it’s better not be. If Hitman wasn’t episodic I would be all over it right now, but I’m not interested in it simply because it is.

I didn’t like Dishonored 1 so there’s not way I’ll be wasting my time looking at the second one. This list is pretty disappointing in my opinion. I know there’s going to be more games. For starters I don’t see Madden, NBA, or any of the other major sports titles here and I know Ubisoft is going to hype something up by false advertising it with a pretty trailer only to dumb it down later on. Hopefully we’ll see some more of For Honor and some more of the new Ghost Recon game.

Please don’t announce another Far Cry game. You’ve already pretty much destroyed the series in my opinion. A dream come true for me would be if Madden 17 was announced for PC and consoles. That would be a day one purchase for me, but I know it’s not going to happen.

I’m also sure we’ll see some of Horizon Zero Dawn, Crackdown 3, and the next Gears game.

The list above isn’t every game, but if it was this year’s E3 would be terrible. Even though I know we’ll most likely get more games I can’t sit down and watch E3. It bores me and I’d rather sit down and watch Spongebob with my kids to be honest.

What’s your thoughts on E3?

I mostly care about the Nintendo news, so you can automatically tell that E3 will be underwhelming for me. Yes, Zelda U/NX hype, but one game can’t carry Nintendo’s stage presence. I think their decision to reserve more from E3 this year is part of an overall migration away from E3, which is what other publishers have also been doing.

Sony’s press conference was stellar last year so if they can keep up the hype train going, then perhaps they will steal the show again. Otherwise, E3 is becoming a former shell of what it once was, since companies are willing to branch out more with outside conferences and experiences.

I’m never impressed with anything Sony does at E3 and that’s why I have yet to get their console.

I wouldn’t mind if developers migrated away from E3 tbh.

I don’t mind that Nintendo only has one thing to showcase. Nintendo doesn’t need E3 in my opinion. If they’re not ready to showcase the NX then we’ll have to wait until they are. I’m really looking forward to Zelda though.

And I’m pretty sure Microsoft and Sony are going to announce their upgraded consoles which I have zero interest in.

I don’t watch the E3 conferences, as reading blogs is good enough for keeping up with gaming announcements. From that lineup I am interested in Persona 5 and I am Setsuna.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of the RPGs, like I Am Setsuna, Nioh, Persona 5, and FFXV. I’m also a little interested in the Attack on Titan game, but I don’t need E3 for that.

Fingers crossed for more info on Scalebound and some actual gameplay for ReCore. Seriously, it’s been nearly a year and we’ve only seen a cinematic trailer? Granted it’s Inafune and we’ve seen the delay hell Mighty No. 9 has been stuck in… so I guess I’m not surprised.
