Age Of Conan- Unchained First Impressions

I’ve been curious about Age Of Conan Unchained for years so I finally decided to try it out. Age Of Conan Unchained is based off of Conan {if you don’t know who Conan is by now then something’s wrong.} I’ll start with the create a character since that’s important in MMO’s. A MMO must have a good character creator if i’m going to invest some serious time into it and Age Of Conan has an acceptable create a character. It’s nothing ground breaking but I did manage to create an acceptable avatar to begin my quest with.

Another thing I like about the game is that it’s voice acted. While it isn’t up to Star Wars The Old Republic levels of talent but it’s a nice to hear the npc’s talking to you instead of reading a wall of text. The combat is simple. You click the buttons on your mouse to chain up combos to perform on enemy. At first I didn’t like the combat system but after about an hour or so it started to grow on me. After I got a few skills to perform and figured out how to implement them in my combos I started to have fun with the game. While the graphics are dated on the max settings they’re quite nice and I found myself taking in the view at times.

Age Of Conan is pretty good so far and I’m going to keep playing it to see if it gets better. I know i’m late to game and the player base isn’t as high as it used to be I still managed to find some people to play with. I would recommend you check this game out if you can’t run more modern games like Guild Wars 2 or Tera. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Civilization V- A Great Comeback

Since we’re still three days away from Total War Rome 2 I decided to play some Civilization V multiplayer. I decided to choose Pachacuti for the first time. At the beginning of the game it’s always costly to go to war so I decided to take the peaceful route and not attack anyone. As far as technology goes I was the most advanced civilization.  Isabella { the ruler of the Spanish Civilization} has already been at war with me twice.

Both times she managed to cripple my kingdom but not once have I ever lost a city. I’ll be honest the first time we went to war if it wasn’t for the Aztecs assisting me I would’ve been taken out the game by turn 100. Isabella decides to go to war with me for the third time. As her first wave of troops gather around my little city {it’s a name I really can’t pronounce so i’m not even going to try and spell it} for the first assault I found myself outnumbered and staring defeat in the face.

My entire army from all my cities only made up about 9 units. We were going up against an army of 16 units. I successfully managed to take her numbers down to about 9 units to even the score and just when I think i’m doing good my scouts discover another 20 units heading to the small city. At this point if I try and purchase another unit i’ll be broke, and my people will be unhappy so i’m screwed.

I keep producing Riflemen to replace my fallen units but they’re dying faster and i’m down to about 6 units at this point against 20. My ally {The Aztecs} promised me support and started a war with Isabella in the north but it wasn’t enough to deter her from trying to wipe my Civilization out. Just when I think all hope is lost and i’m about to accept my defeat The Aztecs show up on my borders with reinforcements. I’ve never been so happy to see another face.

With renewed confidence I started make as many troops as I could to help turn the tide of battle. With our combined forces we were able to eliminate her entire northern army and my friends gifted me some much needed cannons, and Gatling Guns to defeat her southern army. While Isabella does have a more powerful military than I do as of right now I proved how tough I was by holding off that long for reinforcements to arrive and pretty much save the day. Now we’ve begun our counter attack and I have close to twenty units attacking her smaller cities on the river. It’s moments like this that reminds me why I love this game so much. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Ninja Turtles Out Of The Shadows Review

Ninja Turtles Out Of The Shadows is the best Ninja Turtles game I have ever played. Why is this the best Ninja Turtles game I have ever played? It’s the best because it took me back to when I was a kid playing the game for the very first time. Not many games that come out today can make me feel that way. This game caters to old school Ninja Turtles fans like me.

Each turtle has their own unique psychical appearance. Ralph is the brute of the group so he’s very muscular, Leo is average and doesn’t seem to have a weakness, Donatello is very skinny because he spends most of his time on computers, and Mikey is the runt because he’s very tiny but fast as hell. If you examine each turtle you’ll also see distinctive characteristics on their shells. I love the attention to detail that the developers put into each turtle. The gameplay in this game is the best i’ve ever played in a Ninja Turtle game. You can play this game three different ways. You can rush in and beat everyone to death. You can sneak around and take them all out silently or you can counter every attack they throw at you with brutal counterattacks. I mixed and matched all of them to have a very satisfying playthrough with my wife.

The soundtrack in this game is a little annoying to be honest so I turned it off. I enjoyed the game a lot more after the music stopped playing and i was able to concentrate on the game instead of the loud music playing in the background. The story is like an average everyday Ninja Turtle episode and I actually enjoyed it. April gets captured by Shredder and the turtles have to save the day. It’s simple but it works with this game.

Ninja Turtles Out Of The Shadows has multiple modes for you to enjoy playing through. There’s your story mode, survival mode, and an arcade mode. Survival mode is exactly how it sounds… you survive against waves of enemies with a single turtle to test your skills. Arcade mode is wear the game really shines. You play the game the old school way. You and three other people can play through stage after stage of non stop action with the Ninja Turtles just like the old days.

To make things even better you can even level up your turtles and choose from different abilities that they’ll have. You can take up your stats or give them access to new combos to perform in battle. You also get access to a secondary weapon. Leo can combine his two swords into on double bladed sword that he throw like a boomerang at his enemies. Ralph gets two iron knuckles so he can get up close and personal with everyone, Donnie gets the gravity glove and can temporarily suspend a target in midair, and Mikey attaches a chain to his weapon with a blade at the end and does much more damage.

There are some glitches in the game that prevented my wife and I from playing it. Sometimes when you go into a corner you’ll get stuck and can’t move. You’ll even glitch across the stage and land right in front of an enemy and get jumped while the other turtles try and catch up. Other than that we had a blast playing this and I highly recommend this game to Ninja Turtles fans. My final verdict for Ninja Turtles is a very high 8/10. This game is awesome and if you’re a Ninja Turtles fan then it needs to be in your gaming library. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

The Evil Within News, and Thoughts

I’m both excited and concerned about The Evil Within. I’m excited because the game looks interesting and the trailer I saw was creepy as hell. I’m concerned because a lot of people are comparing this game to Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 4 was a terrible game. It’s just one glorified escort mission with one of the worst main characters i’ve ever played as in a game. News on this game is nonexistent right now. There are a few things being said but not much.

The only thing the I saw in the gameplay teaser was the main character hanging from a hook trying to grab a knife from one of the nearby corpse so he could escape. A few moments later he triggers an alarm and runs for his life as something big with a chainsaw chases him through a narrow hallway and eventually kills him. I’ll be honest… nothing I saw here interested me in the game. It looked like they were just forcing you into a “scary” situation.

The Evil Within will release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Pc, and next gen consoles. As of right now i’m going to pass on this game. Running through a hallway to your eminent death isn’t scary. Running from a hulk wielding chainsaw maniac isn’t scary to me. I don’t need chase scenes in a horror game to get scared.

The only advertisement on this game is that Shinji Mikami made it. So what? I absolutely hated Resident Evil 2, and 4 because of Leon. Something being made by him is a reason to be concerned as well as it is to rejoice. As it stands The Evil Within looks like an interesting title but it also looks too much like Resident Evil to be considered an original idea. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Ninja Turtles Out Of The Shadows First Impressions

This is the best Ninja Turtle game I have ever played. This truly does cater to old school Ninja Turtle fans. I’ve been playing this game for about an hour now and honestly I had to force myself off the game to write this. The first thing I noticed about this new game is the difference between each turtle.

Leonardo is athletic, not to big but not small character. Raphael is freaking huge! He’s the brute of the group and his attacks are heavy and will knock an enemy off their feet. Mikey is the runt of the group he’s small but fast as hell and packs a decent punch. He’s the ideal choice for button mashers. Donatello is really skinny as you would expect but he kicks some serious ass.

I was very impressed with the attention to detail in this game. If you examine each turtle you’ll see physical differences in their shells as well. Raphael has a crack in his shell and I found myself smiling just by examining the turtles. The graphics in this game are great. Especially considering this game is only 15 dollars. I would easily pay twice as much for this game. Listening to the four brothers talk back and forth to each other while I play often made me laugh and I for a moment I felt like a kid again.    The action is what you would expect from a Ninja Turtles game but a lot of focus has been put into the combat this time around making the game much more fun than any other Ninja Turtle game out there. I highly recommend Ninja Turtle fans to buy this game. You won’t regret it. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Silent Hill Homecoming

You requested it and i’m giving it to you. Silent Hill Homecoming! Silent Hill has really been struggling these last few years. Silent Hill downpour was by all means a terrible game but how is Silent Hill Homecoming? Are the reviews about this game right. Is it a 6/10 or even a 5/10. I’ve always been more of a Resident Evil fan than Silent Hill. In my opinion it’s the better franchise and has the superior gameplay.

Silent Hill has always suffered with gameplay. Playing through these games are always a chore because of the sticky, unresponsive controls, and flat out stale movements that everyone in the game has. The graphics are always shitty but graphics don’t make a game. At least not in my opinion.

If you want a game that has an excellent soundtrack, and decent story then check this game out. It should be fairly cheap by now. But if you want a game that’s actually fun to play then pass on this one. If I had reviewed this game I would have given it a 6/10 and that’s above average for me. While this game is better than Downpour it’s still a bad game. Silent Hill needs a revamp if they ever want to be back to where they used to be. If you want to play a great horror game then play Fear, even the original Resident Evil games are better than this. Silent Hill is a dying franchise that I don’t see making a comeback. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Playstation 4 Vs Xbox One Part 2

Console wars have been going on since the Nintendo vs Sega days. So it comes as no surprise that Microsoft and Sony are trying to win more people to their sides. But which console is actually better? Or I should I say which console are we most interested in? First things first the console war has been reset because we’re in a new generation of consoles. Why is it reset you ask? It’s reset because non of the next gen consoles are backwards compatible. It’s also because many fans of both sides loyalty have switched sides. People that were loyal to the Xbox have went over to the Playstation 4 and vice versa. Also since we’re buying a new console that means we’ll have to start off at square one once again.

It only makes sense that this “war” between the two powerhouses start off on equal ground. Lets talk about the Xbox One. When the 360 first came out people questioned it’s hardware because of the red ring. While I do believe the problem with the red ring has been fixed that doesn’t change the fact that it happened and if i’m going to purchase a Xbox One then i’ll need to consider the fact that it could have some console breaking bugs.

The Playstation 3 on the other hand has been hacked more times than I can count. The entire Playstation Network was down for a little because people kept hacking into Sony’s security and lets face it. If you have your credit card information installed on your system then you should be worried and rightfully so. The security issues with Sony is something that really worries me and that’s why any potential customers for the Playstation 4 has to take into consideration that their information might not be safe.

I would take the red ring any day over my personal information being hacked into and stolen. With all of this on consumers mind it’s only natural for us to seek a different brand and switch loyalties. Fans of the 360 are tired of the red ring and fans of the Playstation 3 have probably had their account hacked into and stolen. Both are bad and should be taken into consideration.

Now lets talk about the Xbox One’s and Playstion 4’s exclusives. The Xbox One has 13 exclusive titles that’s been announced while the Playstation 4 only has 5. From what i’ve personally seen of the Playstation 4 most of their titles are indie. I don’t have anything against indie games but where are the big titles. I’m personally not interested in most of the games they’ve announced so far and the games I am interested in are coming out for both consoles.

I am however interested in a few of the exclusives the Xbox One has coming. If you’ve read my Killer Instinct article then you would know how excited I am about it. I haven’t made up my mind about which console I want but I am leaning more towards the Xbox One then the Playstation 4 because I think they have the better games coming to their console. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Ninja Turtles Is Back!

I’ve waited for so long for a good Ninja Turtle game to come out and it’s finally here. Ninja Turtles Out Of The Shadows came out yesterday and guys it’s awesome. The gameplay is better than it’s ever been in any Ninja Turtles game and you can tell that the development team really care about this game and it’s not just a quick cash grab. The graphics in this game are awesome and I love the look of every turtle. You can easily tell them apart {not just by the color of their headbands}. Ninja Turtles is 15 dollars on Steam, the Xbox Marketplace, and the Playstation Store. It’s a steal for that price and if you’re a Ninja Turtle fan you should check it out. Ninja Turtles is back and it looks better than ever! I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Killer Instinct News

I’ve waited a long, long time for a new Killer Instinct game to be announced and it seems the wait is finally over. Microsoft has announced that Killer Instinct will be available on the Xbox One when it launches in November. I for one am highly excited to see it in action. Killer Instinct will be free to play so to speak. If you go the free to play route you’ll get access to a single fighter {Jago} at launch. It’s a good way for you to decide if you want to buy the game or not and experience the full package.

Individual fighters can purchased for 5 dollars each or you can buy the Combo Breaker pack and get them all for 20 dollars. Killer Instinct also has an Ultra Edition that costs 40 dollars that has all six characters {plus the two dlc characters}, extra costumes, accessories, and to top all that off the original Killer Instinct game. The ultra pack is the way to go if you’re going to get this game. Microsoft has also announced that they plan on having new season for Killer Instinct every year for the span of the Xbox One’s life cycle. This is a very interesting idea and I look forward to seeing exactly what they have planned for this franchise in the future.

Each new season of Killer Instinct is going to add new characters, and content to the game. Right now there is no story mode in Killer Instinct but there will be one implemented in the game in future seasons. When Killer Instinct launches it will have a practice mode, local and competitive online play. Only time will tell if Killer Instinct can compete with other fighting games like Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. I really hope that it does because I want to see this franchise succeed.

Season 2 of Killer Instinct will be released in 2014. From what I understand season 2 will be the same price as season 1. You can pay 20 dollars for all the characters or 40 dollars for the entire package. There would have to be a lot of future content for me to personally go out and spend 40 dollars for new content on a game. Killer Instinct looks good and I can’t wait to try it out for myself.

Here’s a link to some gameplay I hope you enjoy it and I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Wii U- Exclusive Titles, and Thoughts

There are a lot of quality games coming to the Wii U. Nintendo has a very impressive lineup of games coming out and i’ve chosen my personal favorites ones that has me the most interested in getting a Wii U.

Sonic Lost World looks amazing. Instead of Sonic going up against Eggman they’re teaming up to take out a greater evil. I can’t wait to try this game out.

Bayonetta 2 is coming to the Wii U console sometime next year. Platinum Games is taking their sweet time making this game. It’s going to be awesome…

I love everything Donkey Kong so it’s no surprise that I want this game. It looks like I’ll have a lot of fun with this game.

Mario Kart 8 is a beautiful game and I can’t wait to play it. Mario Kart and Sonic All Star Racing are my two favorite racing games.

I know Pikmin 3 is already out but i’m super excited to get it when I get my Wii U. This is one of those games that’ll keep me busy for months.

Who isn’t looking forward to Windwaker HD remake? I loved this game when it first came out and i’m getting this one to so I can experience everything all over again.

Luigi’s not a sidekick in this game. This is his time in the spotlight and it looks awesome!

I still haven’t made up my mind on this one but a four player Mario game is something that has me curious. I’ll keep tabs on this one.

Super Smash Brothers Universe looks kickass. Must I say anything more?

The Wonderful 101 looks awesome. It has nice graphics, and awesome looking gameplay. Not to mention that you’re a bunch of superheroes… since when is that not cool.

And there you have a list of Wii U exclusives. All of these games look really good and while i’m not 100% sold on this console yet I will say that I’m more excited about it now then I ever was before. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.
