Ben Affleck Is Batman In Upcoming Batman/Superman Movie

Image I’m not sure how to react on this news. Ben Affleck is Batman. That just sounds weird. It doesn’t matter how many times I say it or how many times I try to imagine it I just can’t get a mental image of Ben Affleck playing Batman. I’m not the biggest Ben Affleck fan to be honest.

I hate his work in the 90’s but I love his work now. He has most definitely grown as a actor over years. He’s gotten better roles and the movies that he directs are always awesome. I can see this going south real quick and here’s why. Do you guys remember that abomination of a Batman movie that had George Clooney playing Batman? I’m sorry to say that I think the Batman/Superman movie is going to be that bad.

I just can’t see anyone replacing Christian Bale as Batman. And out of all the people Ben Affleck? Really? I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that George Clooney or Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t trying to get the role. Could you imagine that? I’m hoping this movie is going to be badass. I really do guys but i’m just concerned that Ben Affleck might not be up to the role as playing such a iconic superhero.

Well there you have it guys. Ben Affleck is Batman. Let me know what you think. Do you think this is a good idea or do you think it’s the worst thing ever? Let me know and I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

The Bureau Xcom Declassified first impressions

I played Xcom Declassified today for about two hours and here are my thoughts on it so far.

Image

I’ll be honest with you… I went into this game with a very negative mindset considering how much I love Xcom Enemy Unknown but I have to admit the game isn’t that bad. I actually found myself having a decent time with the game and that surprised me.

I mean yeah this game is a complete copy from Mass Effect. When you press space bar a power wheel shows up with a list of available moves that your characters can perform. Once you select the move you want your character does it. Since i’m pretty damn good a Mass Effect I had no problem whatsoever jumping into this game and playing it on the highest difficulty.

Since difficulty has always been the main focus of Xcom games I thought I was in for one hell of a fight but it turns up the game really isn’t that hard. Keep in mind i’ve only played for two hours so I can easily say in my upcoming review that this game is hard as shit.

Xcom is plagued by a number of game breaking glitches that had me restarting whole stages just to progress through them. I would walk into a room that didn’t load all the way and just fall to my death. It happened to me about five times in twenty minutes and it’s really making it hard for me to enjoy the game the way I want to. The a.i. of your teammates is terrible and I mean terrible.

They do everything they can to fuck up your game. You tell them to take cover and they stand there like an idiot taking shots until they fall over and die causing you to have to stop what you’re doing and go over there and rescue their asses. That being said i’m having a better time than I thought I would have with this game. The third person shooting mechanics takes a little while to get used to at first but when you do it’s not that bad.

I should have my official review up in by tomorrow if not then the day after. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

The Elder Scrolls Online Requires A Monthly Subscription

This actually made my day and i’ll tell you why. When the Elder Scrolls Online was first announced there was more negative surrounding it than positives. Many people including myself thought that this game would fail for one reason. Zenimax would make an average MMO and just put the Elder Scrolls name on the cover and in my opinion that’s exactly what happened.

Nothing that I have seen so far has led me to believe that this game will be any better than the average MMO and for Zenimax to have the balls to add a monthly subscription. Come on guys… don’t act surprised. We all knew this would happen. I thought the smarter way to handle this would be to do what Guild Wars 2 did. Make the game buy to play. Here’s what Matt Firor had to say on the subject

“The Elder Scrolls games are all about allowing the player to go where they want, be who they want, and do what they want. We feel that putting pay gates between the player and content at any point in game ruins that feeling of freedom, and just having one small monthly fee for 100% access to the game fits the IP and the game much better than a system where you have to pay for features and access as you play. The Elder Scrolls Online was designed and developed to be a premium experience: hundreds of hours of gameplay, tons of depth and features, professional customer support – and a commitment to have ongoing content at regular intervals after launch. This type of experience is best paired with a one-time fee per month, as opposed to many smaller payments that would probably add up to more than $14.99/month any way. ”

Is this guy serious? Guild Wars 2 has twice the content in it and I don’t have to pay a monthly fee. This game will be free to play within a year of it’s release. First of all this “Elder Scrolls” game doesn’t even fucking remind me of the Elder Scrolls! It’s your average MMO with a Elder Scrolls title slapped on the cover.

You’ve might as well save yourself some money and wait until the sales don’t meet their expectations or just go and play Guild Wars 2. Hell WildStar is coming out pretty soon you’ve might as well go and pay a subscription for that. That game looks a lot better than this. What we got here is the bare minimum on what a Elder Scrolls game should be. They’re catering to MMO fans not Elder Scrolls fans. They had to add first person combat in the game after they realized what a mess they would be in if they released it without it.

Sorry for the rant guys but I had to get that out my system. This is just their attempt at making more money. That’s the way I see it. There are really great MMO’s out there that don’t require an online subscription. I think that if I buy a game then it’s mine but constantly paying for it every month kind of makes it feel like a very expensive rental at best. Alright guys i’ll simply end this by saying I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Top 10 Pokemon Games

#10 Image

The very first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games caught me by surprise. I thought I would hate them. The questions they ask you at the beginning of the game determines what pokemon you’ll be playing as. The beautiful soundtrack, and decent gameplay earns Pokemon Mystery Dungeon a spot on my list.

#9 Pokemon-Snap-pokemon-video-games-23798321-430-280

Pokemon Snap is a really amazing game. Like I said in my review if you’re a Pokemon fan, or a fan of photography in general then you need to play this game if you haven’t already.

#8 Image

Pokemon Emerald really is a gem. I loved every moment I had in this game and I after I beat the game I immediately started on a second playthrough with a different starter.

#7 Image

Pokemon Firered is a remake of the original Pokemon game. Seeing everything with improved graphics and exact same gameplay took me back to my childhood. If I was ever stranded on an island all I would need is an outlet, a gameboy, and this game and i’ll be set for life.

#6 Image

Pokemon Puzzle League is like crack. Once you’ve had it you’re hooked and no matter how hard you try to quit you need that one more fix.

#5 Image

Pokemon Conquest is a really awesome game. You’re taking three things I love and mixing them together. Strategy, Pokemon, and freaking Samurais. I loved every moment of this game and I highly recommend you try it.

#4 Image

Pokemon Black 2/White 2 are both really great games. Pokemon games stories are a lot better in the later games then they ever were and that alone is enough reason for me to have these games be number 4 on my list.

#3 Image

I had so much fun playing Pokemon Yellow as a kid. Watching Pikachu walk behind me was awesome and I used to love pissing him just so I could see him zap me.

#2 Image

Pokemon Crystal took everything I loved from Gold, and Silver, gave it a good story, and the fact that you can win 16 badges makes this game so much better than anything they’ve come up with.

#1 Image

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver are remakes of the Gold/Silver games. These games are amazing. Reliving all the old locations but with way better graphics and some new Pokemon is just awesome. Being able to walk around with your Pokemon is another thing I really love about these games.

And there you have it. My top 10 Pokemon games of all time and as usual I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Xcom Declassified, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and some Pokemon Snap!

Image  Just a heads up to let everyone know that i’m working on some reviews that’ll be released shortly. Against my better judgement i’ve decided to playthrough Xcom Declassified. Splinter Cell Blacklist should be done in a few days. Do any of you remember a game called Pokemon Snap? It came out for the Nintendo 64 years ago. I just recently decided that I wanted to review that game. I have very fond memories of it and i’m playing through it right now… and i’m loving it.

This game proves that it doesn’t need violence or over the top cutscenes to be awesome and I can’t wait to review it.

Iron Man 3 Review

 Image

I literally just finished watching Iron Man 3 for the very first time. I missed the chance to see it in theaters and I regret it. This movie was awesome. It brought back the moments that I loved in the first Iron Man movie. Watching Tony Stark {Robert Downey Jr} struggle to rebuild his Iron Man suit was great. The chemistry between Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow was great.

I was disappointed in Don Cheadle’s performance in the movie. In my honest opinion I can probably think of ten other actors that could’ve played that role better than he did but since he really didn’t have a big part in the movie it didn’t bother me too much. Pepper kicked some serious ass in this movie and that’s something I never thought I would see from her.

She was intimidating and sexy at the same time. While I don’t like this as much as I did the original Iron Man movie I did think it was a step up from part 2. The Mandorin was an ok villain. I enjoyed the parts I saw him in and I actually believed that Ben Kingsley was the Mandorin at the beginning of the movie. He really did do a great job in this movie. I haven’t seen Guy Pierce in a movie in a while and I loved seeing him act again. He plays a really good villain.

At times I felt the movie was taking a little to long to get to the point and I think it took Tony Stark too long to get his suit back. Don Cheadle was average at best. Other than those minor gripes with the movie I loved it and it earns my recommendation. Iron Man 3 is an 8/10. If you’re like me and you missed out on this movie get the dvd, download it, or watch online. This movie is worth it and the next time an Iron Man movie gets in theaters i’m going to see it. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

10 Coop games you should try

Finding Coop games are hard and finding good coop games are harder that’s why i’m making this list to help ease your search. My wife and I love to game together so when I come across a local or online coop game I get it so we can try it out. This is my or should I say our favorite coop games!

#10 Image

I had a blast playing this game with my wife. We laughed our asses off at the dudes with no heads screaming at us with bombs in their hands. Killing wave after wave of enemies in all sorts of different ways was fun.

#9  Image

Lara Croft and the guardian of light came out of nowhere. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The puzzles, and gameplay were great to playthrough and you can even play as Kain and Raziel from Soul Reaver! That alone makes this game worth playing through.

#8 Image

Splinter Cell Conviction is a great game. I loved playing through the campaign and to make things better it also has a coop campaign you can play through with a friend. We played this game for hours and it never got boring. Seeing how far you can go without being seen is awesome and the other multiplayer modes keep you busy long after you beat the game. Splinter Cell Conviction earns a spot on my list with a recommendation.

#7 Image

The Cursed Crusade is really underrated. It got a lot of hate from just about everyone. So I was hesitant when I brought it off steam but i’m glad I did because it’s a lot of fun. My wife and I played it non stop for hours. The combat system is like Assassin’s Creed, and the way you’re constantly switching your broken weapons for new ones is something I like and it’s well worth the 20 bucks I put into it.

#6Image

Torchlight 2 is a great game. I wasn’t a big fan of the first one for some reason but I absolutely love this game. Getting a group of people together and kicking ass is so much fun and I can easily play this game all day long. If you haven’t tried this one out yet than you should.

#5 Image

Resident Evil 5 is one action packed zombie killing game and is my personal favorite one in the series. I have put over 200 hours into this game and it still has replayability to this day. Trying to unlock infinite ammo in all yours guns is a real treat and some of my favorite coop moments are in this game.

#4 Image

Dead Island Riptide is an awesome game. When you’re in a group of people fighting off hordes of zombies that just want to rip your head off the game is intense and a lot of fun. Dead Island Riptide is my favorite Zombie game to date and I highly recommend this game to fans of zombie games in general.

#3 Image

I had so much fun playing through this game with my friends. We laughed, and kicked ass all day long and at the end of the day we didn’t regret a thing. Castle Crashers is a wacky, action packed game that’ll keep a smile on face.

#2 Image

Nothing is more satisfying than beating other people at a game of Civilization V. This game is addictive. I played this game for 30 straight hours and didn’t even realize it. To win a single map takes longer than that. If you have the patience or you just love strategy games in general you owe it to yourself to play this game. You won’t regret it.

#1 Image

Are you really surprised that this game is number 1. Borderlands 2 is every loot whores dream come true. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of guns are waiting for you to go and get them so you can blow shit up. I had a blast playing through this game with my wife a ton of times. All the expansions, and loot alone make this game worth picking up.

So there you have 10 coop games that I think you should give a shot at playing if you haven’t already. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Saints Row 4, Xcom Declassified, or Splinter Cell Blacklist

Image

Saints Row 4, Xcom Declassified, and Splinter Cell Blacklist all come out tomorrow. So here’s my question. Which game are you getting? Are you getting any of them at all or are you saving your money for something else?

Image

Splinter Cell blacklist is my choice. It’s a no brainer to me. There’s no reason for me to talk about Xcom because I just did that a few hours ago. So that leaves Saints Row 4. If you’ve been following my blogs then you’ll know that I absolutely hated Saints Row The Third.

Image

And everything i’ve seen on part 4 makes me loathe it that much more. I still haven’t decided on Xcom but I know i’m getting Splinter Cell Blacklist and I can’t wait to play and review it. That’s my choice… what’s yours? I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

The Bureau- Xcom Declassified

Image

Have you ever heard the saying don’t fix what’s not broken? If you have then you’ll know where i’m getting at here. What the hell is wrong with these people. Who’s bright idea was it to turn Xcom into Mass Effect and lets face it this game is just like Mass Effect. Xcom has really been suffering from a major identity crisis. It came out as a strategy game, then got turned into a FPS, only to get turned back into a strategy game, and now it’s a third person shooter with some strategy elements. I know it sounds like i’m bashing on this game but I assure you i’m not.

Image

I’m just confused on who made the choice to turn Xcom into an action game. Xcom Enemy Unknown is a great game. Long time fans of Xcom rejoiced when it came out because it’s freaking awesome. If you read my top 10 games of 2012 then you’ll know how much I really love that game. We didn’t ask for this game. We wanted more of the Xcom we got last year. I’m going to hold my judgement on this game until I play it for myself. Until then I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

Dark Souls 2- My Thoughts, Fears, And Hopes

 Image

I absolutely love the Soul series. I was introduced through Dark Souls then later on went back and played Demon Souls which in my opinion is the easier game. So now we have Dark Souls 2 and it looks awesome. The graphics are amazing and I love the amount of work they put into the surrounding areas. Hardcore Dark Souls fans are scared that this game is going to be too “easy” or that it won’t live up to expectations and it’s going to flat out suck.

Image

Think about this though… Dark Souls isn’t a “hard” game to begin with. It’s a game that has you constantly thinking ahead of your enemies. If you rush into a building and try to Dynasty Warrior them to death then yeah you’re going to die a lot but if you take your time and study your opponents every move then you can get quite far without dying and don’t say that’s not true because I have literally went through the entire game and only died twice. Dark Souls will punish you for the mistakes you make.

Image

Am I afraid that Dark Souls 2 might suck? Of course I am but it’s not the first time i’ve been scared that a game I really love might not be as good as the first one. Dark Souls 2 is gorgeous and the gameplay looks so much better than any of it’s predecessors. It looks very fluid, and responsive. Gone are the days of trying to win a duel with a backstab.  The magic in the game looks badass and i’m considering going through my first playthrough as a mage and that’s a class I usually avoid playing in every game. I’m more of a in your face guy and i’m damn good at it too. I personally don’t think we have anything to be worried about in Dark Souls 2 but I do have somethings I want improved with the game that I really didn’t like about the first Dark Souls game.

Image

Finding friends or anyone in general to play Dark Souls with has always been hard. When you do find someone to summon you’ll frequently get the connection lost sign time and time again until you eventually give up and go on alone or you get lucky and manage to get a single partner out of the ten or so you tried to summon before them. I would like to see some sort of drop in and out system or a matchmaking lobby of sorts for the multiplayer. I think it would make the game more fun to playthrough with your friends without having to hunt for their sign.

Another thing I really hated was trying to play Dark Souls on the PC. PC gamers got the worst port ever with this game. I had to plug in my Xbox controller just to play and i’m glad I originally brought Dark Souls for the PS3 because if you don’t mod Dark Souls then you’re going to have a hard time enjoying it on the PC. The frame rate was terrible on consoles {i’m looking at you Blightown} and just as bad on the PC. Thankfully I was able to download a mod that fixed that problem along with the resolution so I had a much more enjoyable experience. That still doesn’t excuse the crappy PC port but it made it easier to play.

And there you have it my thoughts on Dark Souls 2! I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon. Below are some links to various articles related to Dark Souls 2.
