Pokken Tournament Looks Badass, But Is It Coming To Wii U?

Spread the Word!

After watching a bunch of videos on Pokken Tournament I can’t help, but wonder why it’s not on the Wii U yet. This game looks amazing and it would pretty much sell itself.

Pokken Tournament is a simple, but really good looking fighting game that could bring both the Tekken, and Pokemon crowds together. It would be a major success if Nintendo decided to release it so why haven’t they?

I think the answer is simple… the NX is the reason why it’s not happening. The sad truth is that Nintendo has jumped ship from the Wii U already because of it’s lack of sales and it’s entirely their fault. Instead of giving us the games we all want, F-Zero, Metroid, etc. We’re getting close to nothing while the NX comes closer, and closer to hitting store shelves.

That’s just my opinion, but I think it’s a pretty valid one considering everything that’s happening with Nintendo these days. Pokken Tournament would play beautifully on the Wii U. The Wii U can handle the graphics and gameplay looked great. For now it’s an exclusive to Japan arcades, but I think we’re going to see it some time next year. If Nintendo doesn’t release a game this popular for their Western audience they’ll be missing out on a lot of money.

I was expecting a port announcement at E3. Or Something from Nintendo just acknowledging its existence.

While I’m sure Pokken is heading to the NX I don’t think the NX itself is entirely at fault for the Wii U’s current situation, Nintendo’s lack of personnel is.

I mean Smash Bros, Star Fox and even sections of Mario Kart 7 have all been outsourced indicating clearly that Nintendo haven’t got the human resources necessary to produce significant numbers of games for two consoles (3DS & Wii U) let alone a third in the form of the NX and thus, something has to give and that sadly is the Wii U.

I think you’re right, but that really confuses me though. Nintendo isn’t broke. They can afford to hire more people to work on their games so I don’t see the problem from a money perspective. Hopefully they’ll have more good games on the Wii U before the launch of the NX.

I think this is a question which has been perplexing Nintendo fans no end over the last couple of years and I have no answers either.

If Nintendo, and they clearly do need more studios and staff they should have snapped up Atlus when they went on sale and they should be going after Capcom right now instead of investing in a company like DeNA.

The more I try to understand Nintendo the more confused I become. There are so many IPs they can choose from and they continue to give us the bare minimum. Don’t get me wrong they make some fantastic games, but they could be doing so much better.

I’ve been reading some stuff coming out of Nintendo of America about localization and they truly are beyond comprehension in the way they seem to view every game without Mario in the title as a risk or a guaranteed money loser.

Hell they still think Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii was a failure despite the fact it sold over 200,000 copies in the US and that was on limited release.

Mario is awesome, but we don’t need him in everything. I wouldn’t mind a Mario Sunshine 2 though.

They have so many IPs they could use and they’re only focused on a few. It’s sad when you think about it. Hopefully Xenoblade Chronicles sales really well here. That might make them see that we want more than just Mario, Zelda, and Kirby from them…

Splatoon sales should have done this already but I think Chronicles’ sale are going to be good, better than the 900.000 Xenoblade managed I’d bet.

You’re right about Splatoon. I forgot about it since I’m not really interested in it. Xenoblade on the other hand has a lot of fans and it’s going to sale like hotcakes. It’s coming arond the perfect time too. There’s nothing of note coming out in December so it’s a day one buy for me :]

Not a big Splatoon fan either but I am a day one for Xenoblade as well.

I thought Nintendo was going to buy Capcom too, but it didn’t happen. I also wanted them to buy Kingdoms of Amalur so they could’ve had another RPG to their collection, but that’s just my opinion.

Capcom would be an ideal purchase for them but there are plenty more as well.

I mean SNK, another good buy and they only cost 60 million odd and yet here’s another classic games company Nintendo hasn’t even made an attempt for.

Just another missed opportunity to add to the list I guess.

If this doesn’t come out on the Wii U I wonder if the same will apply to the new Zelda.

I think the new Zelda is going to be like Twilight Princess and go to two consoles at the same time. That’s just my opinion on it though.
