Rainbow Six Siege Downgraded?

Spread the Word!

I don’t get hyped about anything Ubisoft releases anymore because I know they’ll eventually get downgraded and that appears to be the case with Rainbow Six Siege.Β

The Rainbow Six Siege beta is out and people have already flocked to it. Some people really like it while others, like myself, think it’s really repetitive and boring. One thing I’ve noticed though is that the game doesn’t look as good as it did at E3 back when it first announced.

The shaders in particular are bad. The excellent lighting that I saw in the original gameplay trailer is gone and even the textures look a little worse. I’m a little surprised that no one else has noticed this and if they did I’m more surprised that no one has complained about it yet because people love to bash anything and everything these days.

I don’t think Ubisoft has learned their lesson after Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed Unity. Both games were downgraded and both games did pretty bad, but Ubisoft doesn’t care. If they did they’ll stop showing us one product and giving us something different. I was really excited when Rainbow Six Siege was announced because Rainbow Six was one of my favorite shooters. My excitement with died when Ubisoft announced that it would only be multiplayer.

Multiplayer is fun don’t get me wrong. I enjoy multiplayer games, but they lack replayability, and longevity in my opinion. I can’t sit down and play a multiplayer game like I can play games like Borderlands, and Crysis. I can even argue that Call of Duty is more enjoyable because of the single player campaign. Β At least it gives us the option to play through a single player story mode.

Rainbow Six Siege isn’t really fun. There’s very little strategy involved in winning a match and the great multiplayer experience that we originally saw is has been dumbed down a lot. I can’t talk to the hostage the way the players did in the reveal trailer and the game has obviously been downgraded.

I never get excited about Ubisoft games anymore because I know the end product will be something different that’s shown off at the big shows. Prepare to be disappointed with the next Ghost Recon game.

I’ll end this by stating that this is my 1,000th post on It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing this for more then 2 years and I’ve managed to write so much in that time.

Thanks for reading.

I remember spending a lot of time playing the Rainbow Six Vegas campaign in co-op… That plus multiplayer made for a great experience. Losing that is a big loss.

Congrats on 1000 posts too… Its pretty cool you’ve produced so much in that time. πŸ™‚

Rainbow Six Las Vegas was my crack back on the Xbox 360. Rainbow Six Siege doesn’t have the same appeal to me. I wonder what Rainbow Six Patriots would have been like. That game looked amazing.

Congratulations on posting 1000 articles. This game isn’t on my radar, but I know a few people who are gutted by the lack of single player campaign.

I’m one of those people that wanted a single player campaign. Ubisoft cancelled Rainbow Six Patriots and gave us… this. So yeah I’m disappointed :].

Sadly, producing two separate products (one for E3 and one for the consumer) has become too much of the norm for game companies in general.

    Congratulations on your 1000 posts!

      Thanks :].

Sadly, you’re right about that. Developers build hype by showing us one product and on release day we get something completely different.

The Witcher 3 is a good example here.
