Resident Evil 7- News, Thoughts, and Hopes

Spread the Word!

Resident Evil has changed a lot since it’s birth back in 1996. What once was actually a horror game that had me to scared to peek around the next corner has turned into Micheal Bay film with over the top action, and explosions happening every five minutes. While I personally don’t think Resident Evil 6 was a bad game I do think it went too far from it’s routes and alienated a lot it’s fans in an attempt to please action junkies. Resident Evil 6 sold 5 million copies but it got mixed reviews across the board from as low as 4 to as high as a 7.

Capcom has announced that they will return to their routes and make Resident Evil scary again. While I am happy to hear this i’m also concerned that it’s just going to be as cheesy as the old Resident Evil games. Back in the day that type of horror worked but now that i’m older i’m a lot harder to scare in games. I think if they just focused their next game on a single character it would be better. Remember back in the gamecube days when you get to choose from two characters and you just play through the game alone.

I want that back. You don’t need multiplayer in everything. While my favorite Resident Evil game is part 5 and I loved playing that game with friends. I think part 6 tried to cater to too many people. They brought back Leon for some odd reason. Added in Wesker’s kid, and threw Chris in there for some action and there you go. You’ve got a game that can’t decide on what it wants to be.

Have the next Resident Evil game focus on a single character rather than 7 main characters and I think it’ll actually have a chance to be somewhat scary. I’m a bit of an oddball with Resident Evil. Most people praise part 2 and 4 and I absolutely hate those two games with a passion. Leon is the absolute worst character in the Resident Evil franchise and playing as him was a nightmare for me.

While I do love Chris I think it would be best for him and Leon to take a break from the spotlight for awhile. Introduce a new character or use some old ones that never made it into the spotlight. Good luck with Resident Evil 7 Capcom… you’re going to need it. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did i’ll have more for you real soon.

for most of you resedent evil fans you know chris redfield died in the first one by wesker so why is he even back and as far as multi people story line it give intrest to game’s more to follow and mor to unlock adds to game play if it’s horror you want then take RE1 and clock tower its all about suspence and dark corrners i think they should focuse on that style again with the hit zone targeting system.

Resident Evil 6 had a very weak story. There was no interest in it pass Chris’s campaign. Wesker’s kid was a joke, and Leon’s story should have ended a chapter early. It was just bad. The gameplay is the saving grace for Resident Evil 6 but they really need to go back to their roots if they want there core fanbase back and Chris didn’t die in the end of Resident Evil. Sometimes there are multiple endings and you can’t believe all of them. Jill died in one of the Resident Evil games but the ending wasn’t canon.
