Skara: The Blade Remains Feels Like A Poor For Honor

Spread the Word!

Every time a new game releases that does something new you can expect a good 100 games to try and mimic it’s success. The latest victim of this trend is For Honor.

Day Z, Overwatch, The Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, and many more games have clones out there. Not all of them are bad, but many of them are. The whole survival genre is a giant mixed bag for me. There are so many games that offer us what Day Z does that it’s hard to keep track of them all.

The latest game to try and get some of the survival pie is Conan The Barbarian. For Honor is the latest game to join the list above. Skara: The Blade Remains is a really poor For Honor clone. Instead of the slow, tactical combat of For Honor you’ve got a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

Skara is in early alpha right now so there’s always room for improvement, but the big problem for this game that I don’t see changing any time soon is the gameplay. It’s not fun to play at all. I don’t see this game ever getting out of alpha because no one is playing it. The forums are dead, there is no community because we all know what games it draws it’s inspirations from, and the game lacks originality.

I wouldn’t mind seeing some games, in the future, try and mimic For Honor in a good way, but right now I’m not going to stop playing For Honor to play a poor game that was inspired by it. Skara doesn’t look as good, play as good, or have the piss poor community that For Honor has and I would rather deal with them then go back to this game again. I wish the devs luck with this game, but I don’t think I’m going to bother wasting any more of my time with it.

I’ve attached some gameplay below so you can check it out.
