I’ve come up with something new for my long-running modding series on Skyrim. I can no longer do a top 5 weekly Skyrim mods because I don’t play the game like I used to, but I still love modding Skyrim and I still enjoy playing it. This is my very first Skyrim Mods Showcase and hopefully, it grows to be as big as my Top 5 Weekly Skyrim Mods.
I’m officially retiring my Top 5 Weekly Skyrim Mods. I did weekly articles for a few years, but I simply don’t have the time to play Skyrim like I used to. Instead, I’m going to choose one or two mods and write about them in great detail while posting screenshots and videos on them. Today’s featured mods are Kato’s Falkreath and the Fantasy Soundtrack Project. Without further ado let my first Skyrim Mods Showcase begin :).
Kato’s Falkreath is a great little mod that completely overhauls one of my favorite Skyrim towns. Falkreath was always a pretty bland area to visit in Skyrim and that’s a shame since I really love the province that it’s located in. We get two Daedra quest, our own buildable home, and many more great things in this area and the city itself is just… bland. This mod fixes that by making Falkreath look a lot better without breaking immersion and it’s totally lore friendly to the lore of The Elder Scrolls, which is a big thing with me when I mod my game.
Stores like Gray Pine Goods have been completely redone on the outside. I always thought shops needed a little extra protection on the outside to prevent thieves, like me, from breaking in and stealing everything. The guard barracks have been touched on too and it looks more lively than ever. Both the blacksmith and Grave Concoctions have been overhauled. This mod left no stone unturned and I love it. It’s the best Falkreath overhaul I’ve ever downloaded. It’s the little things that I love about this mod. It adds more clutter outside of regular buildings. It adds a lot without making anything feel out of place or super crowded like some other mods do.
I love how the general shop (Gray Pine Goods) has bars on the outside to keep would-be thieves out. I love how the blacksmith has a proper place to work now instead of it just being a side prop next to his house and I love that I can just go for a stroll and see some life in Falkreath for once. I love that and hopefully, you will too.
This mod does not mess with any interiors in Falkreath so you don’t have to worry about it conflicting with anything you might have that does interiors.
Fantasy Soundtrack Project
Do you want to know what goes well with this mod? How about a nice music mod? Introducing the Fantasy Soundtrack Project. This mod adds a ton of great music to Skyrim. Skyrim’s original soundtrack is perfect, but I’ve played the game so many times that I wanted something different this time around. That’s when I started searching for the perfect music for me and that’s exactly what this mod is. Here’s a short video I put together with a small slice of music that’ll play while you adventure through Skyrim.
I don’t think I’ll ever uninstall this mod. I haven’t even scratched the surface of it. There are over 8 hours of music here. 8 hours… Let that sink in for a minute. Every time I’m out adventuring there’s a different song playing and it’s always something good. I haven’t heard a single bad track yet and that amazes me.
Here’s a little somethint I put together for this post 🙂
I know it’s not the best, but I think it came out well for my first try.
Finally, the final mod that I’ll be showcasing tonight is Bijin Warmaidens. Having a good looking town is cool, but what about the NPCs. Introducing Bijin Warmaidens. This mod overhauls many of the female npcs that travel alongside you in Skyrim.
I borrowed the official screenshots from the mod page because my pics didn’t come out right. I’ll upload some of my own later.
Sorry, guys no nudes today :). They look good, don’t they? This isn’t even scratching the surface of how many NPCs this mod changes. This actually just a small taste of what this mod offers the player. There are multiple mods that overhaul NPCs in Skyrim by this same mod author. There’s a Bijin Wives version of this and honestly, it’s damn good work.
And that wraps up my very first Skyrim Mods Showcase. Mods Showcase will be the replacement for all things modding. It’s not exclusive to Skyrim. Whatever I mod I’ll share this way from now on. I’m excited to be writing about mods again. It’s how I started and I missed it. Hopefully, everyone that reads it will enjoy it and please let me know how my first shitty video came out :). I’m sure I’ll get better the more I do it so please don’t be too cruel to me :).
Happy New Year everyone.
