I logged on to Steam to use a Steam card today and was surprised when I was looking at someone else’s account instead of my own.
First I would like to say Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you all got what you wanted today and you’re enjoying your time with your families.
Now lets get to what this post is about. Steam is having some problems right now. I don’t know the specifics, but I do know that the store page is really acting up right now. When I tried to purchase a game it took me to another users account. My first reaction was to back out and try it again. When I did I was looking at yet another user’s account information.
This made me uncomfortable for two reasons.
- I don’t like having access to another person’s personal information and I had access to at least three accounts today.
- Someone out there could also be looking at my account.
I immediately set my account to private and it’ll stay that way until this issue is resolved. I urge everyone that has a Steam account to delete all credit card information, if you can, and also set your accounts to private.
Lets hope this issue is resolved very quickly and we can get back to doing what we love to do with our free time.
Merry Christmas guys.

Dec 25, 2015 4:05 pmTheir T&Cs say they are not responsible for theft your your data. If this mess up leads to lost money we will see how that stands up in court.

Dec 25, 2015 4:07 pmIf my money gets stolen you can bet I’m taking them to court. I can’t remove my credit card info at the moment so whatever happens is completely their fault. Our information is supposed to be safe.
