Unfortunately I haven’t had the pleasure of playing Super Mario Maker yet. I completed Mad Max just to make room for Super Mario Maker, but it seems like I’ll have to wait a little longer before I can get my hands on the most creative Mario game yet.
September has been a pretty good month for games so far. It’s already 10 times better than the games we got in August. I think the new game I brought was Shadowrun Hong Kong. This month we’ve got Mad Max, Super Mario Maker, Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain, Sword Coast Legends, NBA 2K16, A new Dragon Age expansion, and Forza Motorsport 6.
I plan on owning all of them except Metal Gear Solid. Super Mario Maker looks fantastic and it’ll definitely keep me on my Wii U for quite some time. The new expansion for Dragon Age will warrant another, my fifth, playthrough of Dragon Age Inquisition, and even though I hate basketball I’ve always loved playing the NBA 2K games.
Mario has continued to innovate for 30 years. Nintendo has found ways to keep Mario relevant and it’s helped him stand the test of time which harder to do then everyone might think. Many games, Sonic, Final Fantasy, etc, are a mere shadow of their former selves because their creators refuse, or do something really stupid, with the franchise and it ends up losing sales.
Mario has always been around and I honestly can’t imagine playing on a Nintendo console without a Super Mario game. Keep up the great work Nintendo. Not many developers can do with you do with their franchise game.
I can’t wait to create some really crazy stages in the Super Mario Maker and share them with everyone. It’s going to be fun.
