The Broncos are the champs and Peyton Manning finally got another ring.
Everyone and their grandma wanted the Panthers to win this game while a few people that I know wanted Denver to win. I was with Denver all the way because my QB, Peyton Manning, is on the team. Just because he’s not a Colt anymore doesn’t mean I don’t still love the guy.
I knew this game was over when Cam Newton threw that interception late in the game. The Denver Broncos sacked Cam Newton 6 times. He spent more time on the ground then he did completing passes.
Von Miller and Demarcus Ware were monsters on the football field tonight. They did everything right and at the end of the game it was no surprise to see Von Miller as the Super Bowl MVP because he played like one tonight.
Greg Olson was shut down and, correct me if I’m wrong, only caught two passes in the game. He was quiet the entire night and couldn’t get open. Ted Ginn has a good game, but it doesn’t matter because they didn’t win.
I think the Panthers were to cocky coming into the Superbowl. They let their success go to their head and the offense played like shit tonight. The defense did their jobs as far as I’m concerned. They only allowed one Touchdown from the offense and it came really late in the fourth quarter. Peyton Manning didn’t put up Peyton Manning type of numbers at all. He was actually a game manager tonight and had game manager type numbers, but he got a second ring and that’s all that matters in the end.
Denver is a dangerous team and if they can keep this defense, and Wade Phillips, together they’ll most likely win another Superbowl, but will it be with Peyton Manning? I don’t think so. I would love to see Peyton Manning play for one more year, but it’s not going to happen. He didn’t want to announce his retirement tonight for obvious reasons. I think in a week, maybe two, he’ll retire and I for one hopes he at least stays active in the NFL. Maybe get a OC job or do what John Elway is doing.
The Broncos went in with a great game plan. I told everyone that if they could stop Carolina’s run game then they’ll win and that’s exactly what happened. Cam Newton had the worst game of the season and couldn’t do anything against that Denver Defense.
His attitude after the game didn’t help make him a likable figure in the NFL, but I’ll save my opinion on that for another day. Congratulations to the Denver Broncos and a big congrats to my man Peyton Manning for being the only starting QB in history to win the big game with two different teams and for breaking yet another record with 200 wins to his name.
