It’s been a minute since I’ve posted one of these. My health hasn’t been great this year so I cut my workload here down to focus on my health. I’m bringing The Game News Bar back!

FBI Issues Warrant To Sony For Information on Possible Drug Activity By User

This news isn’t “new”, but it has gained traction again. The FBI issued a warrant to Sony to get information on a user that’s allegedly selling cocaine to people through text messages on the PS4. A judge signed off on the warrant and here we are. I don’t know how to react to this. I laughed and then got really confused. Aren’t there better ways to sell your shit bro? I mean… you don’t know who you’re messaging online and you’re going to try and sell cocaine online? Okay…

The disturbing part is they say it’s all allegedly part of a drug ring. This is why I’m glad my kids game on Nintendo hardware. We can complain all we want about Nintendo’s lack of social features, but at times like this, it’s a good thing. You don’t have to worry about who your kids are talking to when you’re not around.

PS5 Pro?

Rumors of a more expensive version of the PS5 are already swirling around the Internet. The PS5 Pro is rumored to be launching at the same time as the PS5 and will be more expensive and more powerful than the base. I think the PS5 Pro will come a few years after the launch of the underwhelming PS5 (spec-wise calm down) and give users the option to upgrade their consoles. I’m just going to wait for the mid-cycle upgrade because it’s going to happen. I don’t think it’s going to be at launch though. That would be stupid.

NES Joy-Cons Are 50% Off

The retro NES Joy-Cons is 50%. You can buy them for only $29.99 right now. This is both good and bad for me. You can’t play every game with these Joy-Cons, but it’s one hell of a deal that I might jump on.

New Games Announced For Switch Online Users

Multiple games were announced for both the NES and, more importantly, the SNES. Star Fox II and Breath of Fire II are both releasing, or already are, on the SNES while Journey to Sillus and Crystallis are going to be on the NES. New free games are always nice and I’m totally jumping into Breath of Fire II at some point.

Control On Xbox Game Pass?

Phil Spencer was asked what his favorite games of 2019 were and had this to say,
“I thought Control was really good”, he answered. “It didn’t reach enough people, so I’m glad to see that it’s coming into Game Pass, so hopefully more people will play it because it’s a game that should be played from our friends at Remedy.”

I’m not sure if he jumped the gun and revealed some information he wasn’t supposed, but the official Twitter page of Control tweeted this –

I think Phil Spencer is correct. He wouldn’t just say something like that if it wasn’t true. I think Remedy is just trying to increase those poor sales before they announce that they’re going to Game Pass either at the end of this month or January 2020. This game going to Game Pass, hopefully, PC Game Pass too, is the only way I’ll play it.

And that’s all I’ve got for you today! I didn’t want to overdo things and make a huge list of everything like I usually do. I’m easing my way back into things and I hope you stick around for the next edition of The Game News Bar!

So I immediately thought of the “red ring of death” when you mentioned the PS4 coke ring, but that’s Xbox LMAO. Also wow. You’re going to sell coke online through something EASILY traceable? Like I don’t care what people do; I’m not a narc, but come on.

The red ring of death killed a few of my old Xbox 360s back in the day. I don’t miss it lol. Yeah, that shit was stupid. You can be tracked on everything these days. I hope the FBI finds and arrests all of these people because kids use the Playstation and you never know who you’re talking to. I’m glad my kids are still really young and stuck on Nintendo.
