The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Has Been Delayed… Again

Spread the Word!

I’m starting to think that we’ll never get our hands on the next Zelda game. It’s been delayed again and by looks of things it won’t be released until next June.Β

This bit of news made me really sad. The only reason why I wanted to buy a Switch on release day was because of Zelda. Playing Skyrim while I’m taking a shit would be cool, but Zelda was the biggest title launching with the Nintendo Switch and people are really excited about it.

Hopefully the wait isn’t too long for Zelda, but if I was Nintendo I would consider pushing back the release of the Switch until Zelda is ready for release. I don’t care about Super Mario being on of the Switch’s launch titles. I have a bunch of Mario games already and they’re all great, but it’s not a system seller to me. I always take my time and buy Mario games during sales. Zelda is a system seller because they don’t release as often as Mario. The last Zelda game released in 2011. That’s 5 years ago.

Skyrim is another great title, but who hasn’t played that game to death already? I’m sure there are going to be other titles launching with the Switch, but right now my enthusiasm for the console has been hit hard because we have no idea what other games are going to be launching with it.

I really hope Nintendo pushes the Switch back to the summer of next year so it can launch with a bunch of games.

What do you think? Are you tired of Zelda getting delayed? I know I am.

I don’t remember that Nintendo ever gave a specific release date for Zelda, but I kind of assumed it would be a launch title or bundled with Switch at launch. I don’t know if I’ll pick up Switch but Zelda at launch would have been very tempting for me.

They never gave a release date, but we all assumed it would be a launch title. My interest in the Switch has gone down, but if they announce some other good games on release day I’ll get it day one. Zelda was the big title that I was hoping would get released on day one so I could buy the Switch.

Do you think that might mean the end of the WiiU version of the game? A few months into the Switch’s life and Nintendo might not care too much about the old hardware.

The Wii U version is still in the works. I think it’s taking so long to release because they’re working on two games at the same time. I wouldn’t mind if they stopped production on the Wii U version and focused all of their efforts on the Switch.
