I didn’t like Lords of The Fallen. It was a cheap Dark Souls clone that I refused to support. It was clunky, slow, and didn’t even try to innovate the game it was copying, but The Surge could be interesting if it’s done right.
Instead of another Lords of The Fallen we’re getting The Surge. The Surge takes place in a time where man has to fight the technology it has come to depend on. Deck 13 said they’re trying to improve on the mechanics that they got from Dark Souls and not give us the same exact thing.
Why didn’t they do that with Lords of The Fallen? I’m trying to stay positive here, but it’s hard because I have zero respect for this company. I can’t respect a company that stole every aspect of another game and released it as their own. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt though. If The Surge is different enough from Dark Souls to be it’s on IP then I’ll give it a shot and even give it a fair review.
Note: I don’t hate Lords of The Fallen. I just think it’s a blatant rip of the Dark Souls series. They didn’t even try to give it it’s own identity. That’s why I’m bashing it so hard.
What did you think of Lords of The Fallen? Did you play it?
Will you give The Surge a chance?
