The Surge Is A Sci-FI Dark Souls Brought To Us By The Creators Of Lords of The Fallen

Spread the Word!

I didn’t like Lords of The Fallen. It was a cheap Dark Souls clone that I refused to support. It was clunky, slow, and didn’t even try to innovate the game it was copying, but The Surge could be interesting if it’s done right.

Instead of another Lords of The Fallen we’re getting The Surge. The Surge takes place in a time where man has to fight the technology it has come to depend on. Deck 13 said they’re trying to improve on the mechanics that they got from Dark Souls and not give us the same exact thing.

lords-of-the-fallen-5-1024x576Why didn’t they do that with Lords of The Fallen? I’m trying to stay positive here, but it’s hard because I have zero respect for this company. I can’t respect a company that stole every aspect of another game and released it as their own. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt though. If The Surge is different enough from Dark Souls to be it’s on IP then I’ll give it a shot and even give it a fair review.

Note: I don’t hate Lords of The Fallen. I just think it’s a blatant rip of the Dark Souls series. They didn’t even try to give it it’s own identity. That’s why I’m bashing it so hard.

What did you think of Lords of The Fallen? Did you play it?

I played Lords of the Fallen, but never finished it. Perhaps the sci-fi setting will be more to my liking, just like how I preferred Bloodborne’s world over that of Dark Souls.

I never finished Lords of The Fallen either. If I want to play Dark Souls I’ll play Dark Souls.

I’m not buying a PS4 for one game and from what I’ve seen of Bloodborne I’ll rather stick to Dark Souls. Bloodborne looks good, but I’m not jumping to the PS4 bandwagon for it any time soon. I’ll need at least 10 games I’ll be interesting in buying before I get a PS4.

That’s a good idea. The games aren’t going anywhere so you might as well wait for a better selection and potential price drop. I couldn’t resist the temptation and bought a PS4, although I haven’t used it much after beating Bloodborne.

Elder Scrolls Online is on the PS4 I believe. Maybe that will convince you to buy a new console. I know you love that game 😉

          That was funny :].

ESO would convince me to run far away from a PS4. The only thing that keeps me coming back to my Xbox One is Killer Instinct, and Dragon Age Inquisition. I’m waiting for Tomb Raider, and Quantom Break, and Scalebound. Xbox has a pretty good lineup coming up. I’m also considering Halo 5, but I’m not a huge Halo fan.

I need to revisit Dragon Age: Inquisition. I bought the PS3 version, which looks a bit rough, and had to stop playing because I couldn’t read the tiny text. I have since upgraded to a HD TV.

I love Dragon Age Inquisition. I’ve put a few hundred hours into it and I’m no where near done with it. I still haven’t completed the game as a warrior yet because I’m addicted to mages :].
