My Recommendations PC Top Ten Best Games 5

Top 10 Games of 2016 So Far

Spread the Word!

Half of the year has gone by already and so far we’ve had some pretty good games release this year. Here are my top 10 games of 2016 so far.

10. Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon isn’t for the feint of heart. If you die in this game there are no second chances. You’ll lose your character and be forced to train brand new ones up from scratch. This is what attracted me to this game. It has that one more turn addiction that Civilization games have and every time I said, “just one more turn.” to myself I ended up playing for a extra hour. Darkest Dungeon is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

9. Homefront: The Revolution

It was hard to keep a positive attitude about Homefront: The Revolution. Everyone took a major shit on this game and complained about how broken it was, but it was one of the better PC games I’ve played this year. It’s nowhere near as broken as Rise of The Tomb Raider and Batman. The game itself is a lot of fun and has a lot in common with Far Cry. I really enjoyed Homefront and when it goes on sale I recommend trying it out.

8. Pokken Tournament

The first Pokemon fighting game is a lot of fun to play. I can’t recommend getting it at full price, but once it goes on sale check it out. The weak Pokemon roster is what made me drop this a few spots on my top 10 list.

7. DarkMaus

DarkMaus is yet another game inspired by Dark Souls, but with rats. This game isn’t a carbon copy of Dark Souls and is unique enough to stand it’s own ground. It’s a short game, but a good one and if you’re looking for something different to try out go ahead and buy DarkMaus. It’s cheap and well worth the price in my opinion.

6. The Division

Tom Clancy's The Division™2016-3-11-21-33-13

I know it’s popular to hate on The Division, but you won’t find any of that nonsense here. I loved playing through this game with my wife. I put over 80 hours in this game and I’m planning on jumping back in it soon with a fresh character. The Division is one of the better MMO’s out there and it’s hard to find another third person shooter/MMO that’s as good as this game is.

5. The Technomancer

I really want to tell you guys all about this game, but sadly I can’t for another 7 days. I just finished my first playthrough today and I’m still under NDA. All I can say at the moment is that I really enjoyed playing this game and I’ll have more information for you soon.

4. Salt and Sanctuary

Everyone called this a 2D Dark Souls game, but honestly it’s more of a spiritual successor to Castlevania. It has strong Dark Souls elements for sure, but the core game itself is a classic Castlevania game and it’s one that I’ve poured 75 hours and counting into. This is definitely one of the better games I’ve played this year and it’s a steal for the price that’s at. This game has a ton of replayability and awesome gameplay. Go out and buy this game!

3. Blade and Soul

The long awaited Korean MMO finally made it’s way to the West and it was well worth the wait. Blade and Soul is a fantastic MMO and it’s one that I’ll be playing for years to come. It has a deep battle system that’s more about knowing when to strike over mindlessly hacking away at enemies (Black Desert) and it has a pretty good story too. Blade and Souls is the best MMO that’s released this year so far and by the looks of things it’ll probably stay that way until next year.

2. Dark Souls 3

You guys knew this game would make my list. I currently have well over 120 hours in Dark Souls 3 and I plan on putting a few hundred more before I’m done with it. Dark Souls 3 kept me entertained from the moment I started playing it until I finished it. It’s a fantastic game and would be my game of the year if the game after it wasn’t so damn good…

  1. Xcom 2

Xcom 2 was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. It takes Guerrilla warfare to a whole new level and is hard as fuck. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost a great squad member from those damn aliens… Xcom 2 is better than it’s predecessor in almost every way possible and it kept the spirit of Xcom alive with it’s insane difficulty, deep customization, and awesome campaign. If you haven’t played this game yet you should. It’s fucking awesome.

Honorable Mentions:

Doom would make the list for sure if it wasn’t for that horrible multiplayer…

Fire Emblem Fates

I was so excited for this game, but sadly it fell way below my expectations and was one of the worst Fire Emblem games I’ve played in recent years. It’s still a good game though and deserves to be mentioned here.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

I purposely left this game off of the list because it’s a remake and I wanted to showcase brand new games. It could easily be any one of the top 3 spots.

This wraps up my list of top 10 games of 2016 so far. I know not many people will agree with Homefront making the list, but really enjoyed that game. Hopefully the next 6 months will be as good as the first 6.

Surprised by the inclusion of Homefront, I played it a couple of times before release and pretty much hated every moment of it.
I like the sound of the Technomancer, so look forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

I guess I’m one of the few that really liked Homefront :]. It played really well on PC.

As soon as I can give more info on The Technomancer you’ll see plenty of post on it :].

      Thanks for reading.

Technomancer looks really, really cool. Can’t wait to check that one out. Really want to play Darkest Dungeon as well, but I’m holding off for the Vita port later this year.

I just added Pokken and Twilight Princess HD to my GameFly queue in an attempt to catch up on the Wii U backlog.

Seems like a solid list, dude.

Pokken was a lot of fun. Unfortunately it has a weak roster of Pokemon in my opinion.

Twilight Princess HD is so awesome.

I think you’ll enjoy Darkest Dungeon :]. It’s hard as fuck, but you’ll enjoy it :].

And yest The Technomancer is really cool. If you want to get more info about the game just play Mars War Logs. That’s technically the first game in the series.

Yeah, I liked Mars. I went back and played it after I played through Bound by Flame on PS4 and liked it a bit more, so that’s good news.

I’m trying to finish Persona 4 Golden so I can get to Tokyo Mirage this weekend. Then maybe Twilight Princess HD after that.
