What I Think of Pokemon Sun&Moon Starters

Spread the Word!

I finally got to see what the new starters for Pokemon Sun&Moon looks like and they’re not bad!

My first initial impression of the new starter Pokemon in Sun&Moon were really negative. That’s mostly because I’m really tired of the fire, water, grass starter Pokemon tropes that’s been going on in Pokemon since the very first game. Let me choose a bug Pokemon as a starter already!

After calming down and going back to look at the three Pokemon I will admit that they look better then the previous two generations of Pokemon.

I wasn’t a big fan of the starter Pokemon in X&Y, or White&Black. White&Black has my least favorite starters in the entire series and every time I play X&Y I always choose Fennekin, or Chesnut, but I’m not in love with any of them.

My favorite of the three new starters is Rowlet simply because of it’s typing. It’s a grass/flying type and that’s something I’ve always dreamed of having as my starter Pokemon. It looks weird as hell, but hopefully it kicks ass in the main game.

The next Pokemon on the list is Litten and I immediately thought of Litleo when I saw this Pokemon, but I don’t really like it’s design so far. Hopefully it doesn’t evolve into a fire/fighting type. I think Pokemon fans will revolt if we get another fire/fighting starting Pokemon. This Pokemon does look like the speedy one of the bunch.

And finally we have Popplio the water Pokemon. Popplio is really cute, but I have no idea what to expect from it. None of the starter Pokemon looks tough, but I think that’s a good thing this time around. I got a Dewgong vibe from Popplio and that’s always a great thing since I love Dewgong.

The three starters look good and I’m really happy that we finally got a grass/flying starting Pokemon. That alone has me really hyped to play this game when it launches in November.

Are you going to get the new Pokemon game?

These starter Pokemon are something to get used to. I do think Rowlet looks pretty cool. Popplio looks adorable than tough.

It took me a few days to accept them as the new starter Pokemon. The only one I’m really interested in training is the grass/flying hybrid one. After that I’ll most likely ditch my starter Pokemon like I did in the last two games…

Yeah I am starting to get used to them. I think it is interesting to see that Rowlett is combination of grass and flying. I think the Litten Pokemon will evolve all the way to fire and dark type. Popplio will most likely be a ice and water type.

Honestly, I don’t like Popplio to much. It’s design is too creepy and weird to me. Litten is definitely going to be my favorite.

I think the grass/flying (forgot it’s name :[) is going to be my favorite. I’ll get into the other two once I know what they involve into. Popplio sort of reminds me of Dewgong.
