What I've Been Up To

Spread the Word!

This is probably going to be my final post on WordPress. My blog is being transferred to A2 Hosting on the 21st and I’m excited, nervous, and terrified at the same time.

I’ve had a great five years here. I’ve met some incredible people and I’ve grown really attached to my blog. I didn’t want to throw everything I’ve done here away so I’m bringing it all with me to A2! That means I won’t have to give you guys my new blogging address because this blog isn’t going anywhere. It’s just under a different host now and I’ll have more freedom to do what I want with my blog than I ever had here on WordPress.

Not everything is all sunshine and rainbows for me. My yearly payments have gone up, but that’s not what I’m complaining about. My health is really shitty right now. I had a bad allergic reaction to something yesterday and when I got the hospital I learned that the allergic reaction wasn’t the only thing wrong with me. I also have some kind of infection in my body. The funny thing is I didn’t feel sick, but I feel like complete shit today. Isn’t that weird? I’m on Benadryl, Famotidine, and a steroid called Methylprednisolone. Hopefully, all of this shit will make me feel better soon. I have no idea why I was prescribed Famotidine for an infection, but I have no choice but to trust my doctor. They know more about medicine than I do.

On the gaming side of things, I’ve been playing a lot of Xenoblade 2. I have more than 50 hours of time invested in it and the more I play it the better it gets for me. Is it perfect? No. But it’s really good and I can’t wait to finish it so I can give my final thoughts on it. I’ve also been playing Phantasy Star II and it’s fantastic. My only complaint is the insane encounter rate. My entire party is level 20+ and I’m still in the beginning area of the game because every three steps I’m running into another fight that I can’t run away from. I’m considering buying Lost Sphear on the Switch, but I’m not completely sold on it and $50 is a big asking price right now. I’m also, surprisingly about to get back into Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn. I don’t know for how long, but I’ve already completed ESO a few times now and I need a break from it. So… Final Fantasy it is!

I got a new (very large) desk to game at and it’s freaking sweet. These things usually go for $800, but I got this one for free from a neighbor that was moving out and he didn’t have room for a desk this size at his new home. I’m really happy with this thing. I can’t wait to get healthy and decorate this thing later :).

It’s a little messy right now :).

I can’t really think of what else to write here. As soon as the transfer completes I’ll get back to my regular writing schedule. Hopefully, I’ll feel a lot better too.

What you guys been up to?

I’m happy to hear you won’t really be going anywhere and you found a better hosting site for your stuffs! You’re definitely one of my top blogger buddies, and I’m looking forward to still reading your opinion on all the games.

Health problems such so much. I’m glad they’re doing something for you and I hope it helps. I’ve been on prednisone before when my asthma gets out of control, but I can’t even imagine how much stronger methylprednisone is. With the first one, you only take it for ten days and stage down, because it’s serious shit. I’m glad they caught what was going on and are treating you.

Looking forward to seeing what’s new and good on in your fresh space in 2018!

Thanks for the kind words :)! I’m glad they caught what I have too. They told me not to take methylprednisone at night. Only the morning because it’ll keep me up all night.

I’m looking forward to what’s going to happen too. I’m nervous. I keep asking myself if I made the right move. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and I’ll be back to writing again soon.

Thanks again for the kind words. They meant a lot to me.

I think you know what’s right for you and your blog. If you’re not happy on WP you should definitely make that move. I tell everyone that life is way too short to not be doing something that either makes you happy or is fulfilling. Not that it’s always easy to do that, but it’s always worth it to try!

That is great advice and it put my mind at ease about this whole thing. Thank you.

I’m glad you won’t be going too far. I’ve grown quite attached to lots of the folks here on WordPress, so it’d be a shame to see anyone fade away forever.

I’m sorry about your health troubles. I hope that you can get on the mend soon and get back to all the things you want to be doing. I wish you all the best in your recovery, and look forward to seeing what comes out of your wonderful new gaming/work space. That is one awesome desk! Free desks are the best desks.

      Thank you :).

I’ve worked way too hard on this blog to leave it behind and start all over again. I’m loving my desk by the way :). I can fit all of my geeky things in one area instead of having them spread around the room. I’m happy with it.

Oh dear! I hope you get better soon! Health concerns are always crap when there’s so much going on. And when isn’t there a ton of stuff going on!

Thanks. I hope I feel better soon too and tell me about it. Even though I’m sick that doesn’t mean I get to take the day off. Gotta make that money and support my family 🙁

Sorry to hear you haven’t been well. Fingers crossed your situation improves sooner rather than later! 🙂

How easy is/has the switch been between hosts? I know WordPress lets you export your site so you can do what you’re planning but is it a straightforward process of importing the data into the new site?

The Switch is actually pretty smooth. Different host will have different requirements. Some host will take your blog completely offline while they transfer all of your stuff. Some times the transfer could take two to three weeks. The host I found will have everything done in the next few days and the best part is their pricing. If you can’t afford to pay for a whole year you can do monthly payments. You can even pay two years in advance if you want to.

Monthly payments would be awesome! Wished WordPress offered that. 🙁

I’m glad that you have found somewhere to host your blog that suits you (and that I will still be able to follow it).

Sorry about all the health stuff you are going through. I wish you a smooth recovery and I’m glad the doctors caught what was going on and are treating you.

    The desk looks amazing too.

Thank you :). I’m glad the doctors caught what was wrong too before I got worse. And I’m loving my new desk. I have way more space than I previously had with my other desk.

Yikes man, hope you feel better. That’s rough! At least video games seem to be a good distraction, particularly something as large as Xenoblade and Phantasy Star.

    Sick desk!

Thanks. I actually got a little worse since I wrote this. I have a high fever now :(. I guess I’ll get worse before I get better. Gaming does make it easier though and I do love my new desk :).

I’m actually feeling a lot better since I started taking my meds. I should be back to normal in a few more days :).

The desk is amazing. My last desk was small and cramped, but I have so much space with this one. It’s the best desk I’ve ever owned.

      Thank you.

I’m excited about the move. I’ll have more control and won’t have to go by WordPress rules on advertisement and stuff like that.

My desk is very large and I have so much space. I love it :).

    What about THC? 😉
