What The Division Needs To Do To Get Better

Spread the Word!

The Division is Ubisoft’s first take at a MMO and it’s a lot of fun in my opinion, but it also needs something that every other MMO has… regular updates.

Since The Division has released it’s gotten some updates, bug fixes, and reworks, but very little content added to the game. The daily missions have been reworked, which is awesome btw, and Incursions adds new challenging missions for end game players to try and take on with friends. The first new area to explore is the underground and it’s not bad, but it’s not exactly what this game needed in my opinion.

Games like Tera, Blade and Soul, and even Warframe get updated with new content regularly. Blade and Soul gets new major content every month that adds new areas, quest, and story content. It seems like every time I check my email there’s new Blade and Souls stuff coming up and that’s awesome. Warframe is updated every month too with new content and every 2-3 months with new prime frames for us to unlock.

The Division does not do this. Instead we got one new area to explore in The Division since it’s release and it still can’t compete with the other MMO’s I just named. To be fair they’re all a lot older than The Division and the developers have a lot more experience with MMOs then Ubisoft do, but that doesn’t change the fact that we get free major expansions to these MMOs while you have to pay for just about everything The Division offers which is fine by the way.

The Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2, and Star Wars The Old Republic all have paid content. ESO is a buy to play game just like The Division that has us buying new expansions when they release. This year will be a important one for The Division. This is a buy to play MMO that offers us very little content at the moment and if Ubisoft wants to keep it’s playerbase it’ll need to drop that bullshit exclusivity deal with Microsoft and give all players, on all platforms, access to their content at the same time.

I love this game and I want to see it succeed because there is no other MMO like it. Most third person shooter MMOs are really bad with the exception of Warframe and this game. There’s still a bunch of things that are supposed to happen with The Division this year. Lets hope it’s worth waiting for and hope that we get some free content along the way to keep us invested in the game until the paid stuff releases later on.

Comments like this are better left in my email instead of on my blog, which is doing very well btw, because I don’t like it. I’m happy with WordPress, but if you want to contact me you can find my email at the top of the page right above my articles of the week.

I’ll leave it here for you though for future reference – [email protected].

I will be removing this comment soon.
